Jake is an experienced mathematics and science educator with a background in Applied and Engineering Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

As a teacher and tutor, Jake has worked with middle school, high school, and college-level students across mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and standardized test preparation. His teaching experience spans Algebra through Calculus, Geometry, Precalculus, Statistics, AP Physics, and SAT/PSAT preparation.

Jake specializes in breaking complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and adapting instruction to the individual student. His approach combines conceptual understanding, structured problem-solving strategies, and executive-function support to help students become more confident, organized, and independent learners.

Jake has an academic background in Applied and Engineering Physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where he developed a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, computation, and scientific problem-solving. His university experience also included research in astrophysics with the Other Worlds Laboratory and in materials science, giving him exposure to both theoretical and experimental science. This broad STEM background allows him to help students connect classroom concepts to deeper scientific ideas while keeping instruction clear, practical, and approachable.
